My cup of tea…

Found a great antiques barn today while out “hunting” with my sister and mom, where I scored this Johnson Brother’s Heritage Hall tea cup for $2.  Now, I am not a china collector, nor do I know much of anything about such things. I just really loved the colors. When I spotted the teeny tiny lady off to the side of the house busily working at the spinning wheel, I was sold! I may not ever figure out how to actually use the spinning wheel myself…but I certainly do enjoy the idea of it.  I mentioned that I think I’ve read that Johnson Brother’s is the maker of a turkey platter I’ve seen that for some reason I just really think I’d like to have…again, not sure why because I really don’t get in to collecting china, but I’ve just got this idea that I’d really like to find that platter.  “That’s the one your grandmother used to have,” my mom explains.  The memory starts to appear…and it’s one of those moments where the dots connect.  So that’s why I’ve got this idea in my head to find that platter, and that’s why when I spotted this tea cup in similar colors by the same maker, I just needed to buy it.  Funny.

It’s a chilly September Saturday today, the first of many to come.  Perfect weather for a cup of spiced chia tea… in my lovely new tea cup.
